Reparative Reading at City Library

Testimonials

Participated in reparative readings with ©fragment31 today at City of Melbourne Library, and it was everything one could want in an hour of the unknown.
Superb texts curated by the community, gentle deepening constellating conversation and just being with each other.
I felt lucky to be in a position of last minute spontaneity to attend!

As I was able to, I went to several of the Reparative Reading sessions and every time was its own beautiful experience as the conversations that arose each time reflected the different people who were gathered. I discovered so many amazing pieces of writing and I loved the opportunity to connect with people I wouldn’t have met otherwise.
Leisa did a wonderful job of creating a space that allowed for vulnerability and openness so that important topics related to our understanding of ourselves and the world could be considered individually and as a community.
I think it would be lovely if we can continue to facilitate spaces where we can read together and find questions, answers, quiet consideration, and friends.
There was a lot of heart and so much that was beautiful and necessary about the workshop, including the tea.

I was attracted to the idea of reading freely / without feeling obliged to respond in any particular way. When we read news feeds, we feel we want to get it right, to respond appropriately. It is freeing to open up more, to read just for refreshment and curiosity and to do this in friendly company - with the surprises and insights other voices can offer. I found myself reading with a more open mind...and enjoyed the readings I’d selected to browse from those on display.
Thanks for the opportunity!
